Kat von D Tattoo Chronicles! (pic heavy)

‘Ello everyone!

I’m so excited to share this product with you today! This particular item is one I have wanted to purchase for a long time now. I was shopping with my sister Saturday morning and we walked in to Sephora (of course). We wandered around for a little while, until I saw it, marked down from $55, to $25. I flipped out! I couldn’t pass up something so amazing! Especially since it has been on my wishlist FOREVER lol. And thanks to my amazing sister, Amber, for buying it for me!

My new palette: Kat Von D Tattoo Chronicles vol.1.

Im sorry if I post tons of pictures, I just want you all to be able to see how awesome this palette is! Im not a big fan of Kat von D or anything, although I think she is a brilliant artist, but she has a certain style that I really enjoy.

The palette looks like an old book; red with gold detail and writing, inside there are 2 pages, before you get to the makeup, one page tells where her passion for makeup came from (her mom), and the other is a thank you to people that have inspired her to create the palette. Opposite each page is a drawing, both are beautifully illustrated females. I love art, I love the theme of this palette, and I love all of the things inside also! It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Onto the products inside:
  • 3 Primers
  • 12 shadows
  • 1 pair of false lashes
  • 2 fragrances: Saint, and Sinner

Primers: there are 3 different primers. One, “skin”, is a matte nude color, “stellar”, a pink shimmery primer, and “smoky”, a grey matte primer good for use under dark shadows.

Shadows:
  • Tijuana- matte black with warm gold glitter
  • Taxidermy-warm deep coppery brown
  • Hollywood-the perfect shade of gold
  • Peanut-a lovely light taupe color, similar to rodeo by UD
  • Redemption-matte royal blue
  • Solitude-medium shimmer purple
  • Heartkiller-light baby pink with chunks of silver sparkle
  • Baudelaire-amazing silver shade
  • Monastary-matte black with multi toned shimmers
  • Poe blue- deep navy blue, shimmer
  • Nite owl-deep hunter green, shimmer
  • Lemmy-light shimmer yellow

And not to forget about the awesome pair of lashes it came with.

There is a funny story about the perfumes though. I had no idea it came with them. I got the palette home and (without reading the box) I tore it open and realized there was a hidden compartment. I opened it up and got soooo excited when I saw them!: 2 roller ball perfumes, “Sinner”, and “Saint”.  Sinner is more of a muskier, mature smell, while Saint is a sweeter smell, although it seems like they have the same base notes. Ill have to do a little more research on that to be sure, but I really enjoy them both! Sinner is my favorite so far. Im positive I will be purchasing a full size of that!

I would definitely give this a 2 thumbs up! Get it while you can for that price! This brand is exclusive to sephora so other than online, it’s the only place to get this palette. The new Kat von D palette is out now, the Candelabra edition, so they are just trying to get rid of the old palette. If you are interested, and you can find it, get it! Its totally worth it!

P.S., I picked up “Adora”, the perfume by Kat von D, on black Friday because the full size bottle was on sale for $10! It’s a beautiful scent. Clean, yet musky. Hints of mango, jasmine, and musk. I really want to get the “Poetica” perfume. Its more fruity and fresh.

As always, Questions? Comments? Requests? Let me know! I love your input! I finally got the facebook page up! Please like and share!

How was your Thanksgiving?!?! What do you have to be thankful for?

Also, what are some good polishes to use in water marbling? I have been experimenting with it a lot lately trying to find good polishes for it.

Mmmmm...Chocolate:p

‘Ello everyone!

Today I have a nail look for you that I did a few weeks ago. Its just a simple mani with a glitter on top of polish.

I have recently have been acquiring a hearty collection of Ulta salon formula polishes. I love the texture of them, the colors, and the longevity. I decided to use more fall like colors in this mani. It actually happed by accident: I never wear brown polishes, because I think they are pretty boring and I like more color. But I purchased “chocolate kiss” from Ulta not too long ago, and I decided to give it a go. It was a gorgeous color and everything,, but It didn’t suit me, I didn’t have enough time to take the polish off and start over so I looked through my collection to see if I had any pretty glitters I could just throw over the top to make it more colorful. I came across “Tink-her-bell”, which is a multi-sized pale pink glitter. I tried it out, and it actually looked pretty amazing! I liked it so much in fact, that im sure I will be painting my nails with this again.

How do you feel about brown polish, or neutrals in general?

As always, feel free to comment question and request! I’ve got a couple of really great things lined up :D

October Polish Haul

‘Ello everyone!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Like always, I have been extremely busy. I do have a few haul blogs for you and some nail and makeup designs coming up for you.

This haul blog is all nail polish. And it’s a haul that has been accumulated over quite a long time.

China Glaze:
  • Seniorita bonita-med. Purple with gold glitter
  • 108 Degrees-hot hot red/pink
  • Afterglow-light pink with blue duo
  • White Cap-sheer pearl white with gold glitter

I got 2 of these from ulta, I bought 2 and got a free topcoat, plus I had a $5 off coupon!  The other 2 i got off of amazon for 99 cents a piece. I really enjoy china glaze polishes. They are high quality and they have great pigmentation.

Also from amazon, the o.p.i Nice Stems collection minis:
  • Play the peonies-cream white with silver shimmer
  • Come to poppy-warm, light pink, silver shimmer
  • Be a Dahl-ia, wont you?-bright red/pink
  • I lily love you-pink based flex glitters

Ulta:
  • Purple haze-light purple blue duo
  • Jaded-teal green
  • Salsa- burnt orange/red with silver shimmer

Essence:
  • Where is the party?

Wet n Wild:
  • How I met your magenta
Pure ice:
  • wild thing

And recently I have been looking for a new basecoat, one that can help my nails withstand the harshness they endure day to day. Im on the hunt for a strengthener and maybe even a growth enchancer also. I picked up Orly’s Nail Defense basecoat and so far, I see a significant reduction in chipping and wear and tear on my nails.

Comments? Questions? Requests? Please share! I love feed back! I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween! Sorry I didn’t do more tutorials this year for Halloween, I didn’t have a lot of special effects makeup.

P.s., i got my hands on a bottle of Rainbow connection fro the new muppets opi line, im so excited! ill post as soon as i get it!

1930's mani

Ello Everyone!

Today, I have another nail design for you. these are a bit easier for me to do when im pressed for time! this was a mani inspired by the 1930's. Typically it is a jet black nail, with a white half moon. today, i did more of a fall-colored nail design.

I used 2 coats of ulta brand basecoat, and tput one coat of  'cut the cake' (a silvery white with a blue/purple undertone) and using the tape method, i cut a rounded edge on the tapeand placed it on the bottom third of my nail. once thatwas on, I used 'Let's Groove' (a dark plum purplel with a red and gold shimmer) and painted the oter two thirds of my nail. Once it was dry, o put a coat of Seche Vite topcoat on to seal the design.

i really liked the turn out of this look. i have done it before with black polish instead of the purple, and i liked it alot. but this i like more because there is more color to it.

Questions, comments, concerns, requests?  let me know! I would love to hear from you guys!

108 Degrees!

‘Ello everyone!

Today I have another nail look for you. I have to redo my nails almost every day because they get ruined so easily. So I try to take pictures of every mani to share with you guys. Sorry it has been sooo long since I posted anything. I have been really sick, but now that I’m better, I’m trying to catch up!

Today’s look is just a basic pink polish by china glaze. This color is called “108 degrees”, and it is a shimmer red/pink. Its part of the Caribbean Collection by China Glaze. I’m going to have a little mini haul coming up soon for some recent purchases I have made, and this polish was included. It’s a pretty sheer color, but the application was great. The polish is a good consistency, and it also looks great over black.

This is the final look, with 2 coats of Ulta basecoat, 1 coat of the ‘108 degrees’ and a coat of seche vite topcoat.  I love how bright it is! (The lighting does'nt do the color justice)

Tell me what you think! Questions, comments, concerns, suggestions? Tell me about it! Your feedback helps make this a better placeJ I’m really excited for Halloween! What are your plans?  Let me know and have a safe weekend!

August/September haul :) (pic heavy)

Hi everyone!

Today I have a collective haul for you of some polishes I have acquired over the last couples of weeks. I have recently gotten more into nail polish be cause of my friend Ericka, and sister amberJ.

From Ulta:
  • Chocolate kiss-Deep mahogany brown with shimmer
  • Femme Fatale-Deep Plum shimmer
  • Lav-ish- light purple/taupe with gold and pink shimmer
  • Tink-her-bell- pink multi-sized glitter
  • Snow white- plain white

I couldn’t pass up some of the amazing deals they were having at ulta. Polishes were $2 , then they were buy 3 get three free! I LOOOOVE CHEAP STUFF! The polishes are all very great quality and they apply very well.

Wet and wild Craze:
  • Inferno- bright orange with gold shimmer
  • Rustic-Extreme shimmer bronze
  • Nocturnal-Very deep, dark blue

I got these polishes from a store called 5 below for about $1.99 a piece. I love the colors, but I don’t like the caps. They are hard to hold because they are so wide. But other than that, I love the colors.

(i just out the wet and wild ones together. From left to right: Inferno, Rustic, Nocturnal, Disturbia, Sugar coat)

Wet and Wild MegaLast:
  • Disturbia-Dark creamy plum with a light red shimmer
  • Sugar coat- pale, creamy pink

I purchased these polishes both from my local grocery store, Giant Eagle, for $1.99. I like the colors and I would definitely buy this brand again.

Essence @holographics.com
·        Blue ray- Blue with purple and teal shimmer
·        Prism@tic white- White with pink, purple, and teal shimmer.

I bought these polishes from ulta after purchasing the “Gagalectirc” purple. I absolutely LOVE duo chrome ANYTHING, so I had to have the set (I also picked up one of the cream eyeshadows in this collection alsoJ)!  For $1.99, you cant beat the price!

Sally Hansen Extreme wear:
  • Strawberry icing- A sheer, hot pink with silver sparkles
  • Violet sparks- Bubble gum pink w/ blue duo chrome

I bought these also from 5 below for $1.99. The strawberry one is very sheer, but would look really nice over other colors. And I LOVE the Violet Sparks. My sister, Amber was wearing it over a light lilac color the other day, and it was beautiful!

Art club color:
  • black

The last polish I bought was a detailing polish in black. I got it from 5 below also, for $1.99. I wanted to see how I liked it before I bought it in a lot of colors. So far, the brush is great, the color is very pigmented, and it goes on smooth.

I had some extra time today to get some stuff done for the blog thank goodness lol. I try to update as much as possible! Questions, comments, or concerns? leave a comment! Got some great stuff comin up for ya soon! i hope all is well for everyone and that you are all enjoying the fall weather:)

NYX 10 Shade Runway Collection

Hey everyone!

Today I’m gonna do a mini review on a pallet I bought and mentioned in my haul blog. It’s the NYX runway palette in “haute model”. I bought this palette from ulta for $10.99 and it has ten colors. I think there are 6 palettes in this collection, but I’m not too sure. This particular palette seemed to have the most variety. I like all of the colors, except for the fact that most of the shadows are black-based shadows, so to get the best payoff, you will have to use it over a black base. I can’t say that for all of them because the bright pink and bright teal colors are beautiful and very well pigmented. But as for the other darker colors, I don’t find them very easy to use. It’s based solely on my opinion. I don’t really like having to use a black base with my shadows. Its not that I don’t like it, but using a black base takes a lot of time to apply for me, and when you are in a rush, you don’t have time to blend and perfect a base. They also are not as smooth as the brighter shadows. Some have a chunky glitter in them and the glitter doesn’t stick very well. Here are some photos and swatches of the shadows. I stayed in the same order as the palette so they should be easy to follow. To be honest, I probably wont be purchasing any of the other palettes

Once again, thanks for reading! As always, comments and requests are totally welcome. I have a lot of stuff planned, I just have to find the time o get to it! Facebook page is in the works still. I have a haul video coming up soon, some nail looks, Halloween looks, and more reviews! Hope everyone is doing great!

First Nail Blog: Vintage Vixen

Hi everyone!

Today I’m doing my first nail tutorial. Nothing special, just a little something I did the other day that I really, really liked! I called this look “Vintage Vixen”, because of the classic red and black. You could also use this look for Halloween also! The colors I chose were China Glaze’s ‘Riveter Rouge’, and Chi’s ‘My Little Black Book’ with Orly’s Nail Armor base coat, and topped with Seche Vite’s topcoat. Here is the look:

I did a layer of the Orly basecoat, followed b 2 coats of the Riveter Rouge. I left it to dry for a while, and I used tape to block out the design for the black. Once the black was on, I set it with my Seche Vite topcoat. I love how it turned out!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures. They were already chipped by the time I had decent sunlight to take the photos lol. I’m planning a review on some polishes soon, so look forward to that. Also, the Gnome tutorials are still in the works! I just have to get over this rotten coldJ. As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, requests, just let me know! Leave a comment and don’t forget to follow me! P.s., ill be getting a facebook page together soon I hope!

Glamour Doll Eyes Review!

Hi everyone!

Here is my first requested review video, on Glamour Doll Eyes Cosmetics! I previously mentioned this brand in my top favorite’s video, as my favorite loose eye shadow and for good reason! These shadows come in such a variety of colors and finishes, and they apply well! They are so versatile, that some can be used in gloss (ones that are lip safe, of course) and even nail polish! All of the colors are labeled on the packaging, whether they are eye, lip and nail safe; Also if they are vegan or not. You can also use these shadows wet or dry.

Glamour Doll Eyes has a few different products to choose from, from eye shadows, to eye lights (glitter), and glamour glosses. The shadows are sold individually or in collections. Some shadows are limited edition, made for special occasions and collections. I purchased my mini haul of GDE samples about 2 months ago and I have loved using them! I got all samples, of course, because I didn’t want to buy full size and get stuck with full size colors I didn’t like, although now I know, I love them all! 1st haul blog:)

Hi everyone!

I had an awesome weekend, full of fun and inspiration. I know I haven’t posted very much lately. I have been very busy! I try to post as often as I can though, and I promise I have some great blogs coming up for you! Hauls, looks, reviews, on makeup, nails, and skincare are in the future! Just trying to make the time to cover everything!

Today I’m just doing a little haul from the last few weeks! I have a couple of repeat buys and a bunch of new things I want to try out and give you a review on.

I’m going to start with a few samples I was given from my sister to check out. Two skincare products by Peter Thomas Roth (a facial scrub “blemish buffing beads”, and an acne fighting gel “AHA/BHA acne clearing gel”), and the eye primer “stay, don’t stray” by Benefit. After using the skincare products for two days, I have seen a dramatic difference in my skin. My pores look a lot smaller, and my face is not as slick as normal. So far I like this product, but I’m going to give it some more time and give it a proper review. The eye primer, so far, I like. It is a lot different from shadow insurance or primer potion. It is an opaque primer, similar to a liquid concealer. Its consistency is also thinner, but once applied, it creates a great sticky base for the shadow to stick to, and it doubles as an under eye concealer, which works great! I plan on giving this primer some more time before properly reviewing it also.

The next items on my list came from a trip to five below a few days ago. I picked up some nail polishes and a perfume. The nail polishes I bough were Fresh Paint’s ‘witchcraft’ (a very dark, almost black, Plum/Burgundy), and Wet n’ Wild’s ‘Burgundy Frost’ ( a lighter, more coppery burgundy shade). Both shades were under $2 a piece and the colors are beautiful! I also purchased a perfume there too, which I had bought before and really liked.

From left to right: Burgunsy Frost, Witchcraft

My next trip was on Sunday! My sister, our friend Ericka (from http://letsgetnaild.blogspot.com/), and I decided to go to the Gnome and Garden show in Kirkland and had a blast! Afterwards, we went to eat at a place called the 50’s diner! It was so awesome and retro! After that was a trip to the Ulta store out there. Oh boy, we were like 3 kids in a candy store!

I ended up with 4 polishes, a new mascara, and an eye shadow paletteJ. 3 of the polishes were Ulta brand, in ‘Little Black Dress’, “concrete evidence”, and ‘Alter Ego’.  The other polish is from Essence, and it is one of the ‘@holographic.com’ polishes, in the shade ‘Gagalectric’. The mascara is just a repeat buy to replace my old one, Amped Lashes by Ulta (in jet black), and a 10 shade eye shadow palette by NYX (the runway collection in ESP10C 09 “Haute Model”.

From left to right: little lack dress, concrete evidence, alter ego, and gagalectric

I’m going to take the time to properly review these items for you and let you know what I think! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask! Requests for looks? Product reviews? Let me know! Ill be happy to answer!

Also, im going to start a mini series of looks inspired by our trip to the Gnome and Garden show this past weekend. I think its going to be a total of about 6 looks. The number could change tho. So look forward to those in the near future!

Autumn Leaves

Hi everyone! I know it has been a while since I posted anything. I have been so busy busy busy! But that’s ok, I sat down and did a look inspired by the change in weather. It has been cooling down and the smell of fall is in the air. It’s probably my favorite season, with all the colors and cool, breezy days! Although I’m going to miss the fun, bright colors of summer, I’m excited for the dark and dramatic looks of fall, and Halloween!!!!!

I cant wait to get my camera so I can start filming the tutorials, but until then, this will have to do!

Here is the look:

On the face:
  • Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation in #110 (I am sooo pale!) + my m.a.c #130 brush
  • CoverGirl Fresh complexion concealer
  •  Ulta blusher in “Fame”
  • Tarte “Park Avenue Princess” bronzer

On the eyes:
  •  Icing makeup set eyeshadow
  • Liner from Icing makeup set in black
  • Elf liquid eyeliner in black
  • Rimmel kohl liner in white
  • Ulta Amped lashes mascara

On the lips:
  • Ulta lipgloss in “cutie”

I used the Rimmel white kohl liner to outline the design, Once I got the basic shape in, I began outlining the design in the black liner and blending it to create the shading and the leaves. After that was finished, I began to color in the tree and leaves, defined my eyebrows and did a light wash of color on my lids. I finished with black liner in a cat’s eye shape, and outlined everything with black liquid liner to give the look more demention. I really liked this look, although its not very wearable.  You can always use the colors in this look for a beautiful fall inspired makeup!

If you have any questions or comments, dont hesitate to ask! I would really appreciate you feedback! Any requests for looks? I'll do those too! Thanks for reading!
